Over the past several decades, milk has been regarded as an essential and integral part of the diet. No day starts without a tall glass of milk, they say. Milk and other dairy products like yogurt, cheese, ice cream, and butter have all been promoted by the backing of millions of dollars and lobbying. It may come as a surprise, that out of all the creatures that walk this planet, we humans are the only ones that routinely drink milk and make use of milk-based products, that too of other species.

It has been assumed to be beneficial by a large stratum of the population, but this is questionable. The scientific evidence that points to the ill effects are devastating. Furthermore, there is compelling scientific evidence that says that the consumption of dairy products is strongly associated with certain health conditions that are listed as under:

  • Constipation
  • Digestive disturbance
  • Arthritis and severe joint pain
  • Sinus congestion and rhinitis
  • Asthma
  • Skin problems like acne, dermatitis, rashes, and hives
  • The onset of childhood diabetes (type 1)
  • Obesity and weight gain

The issues with drinking milk are many and aren’t just restricted to the aforementioned.

Biological magnification of toxins

All animal products are imbued with the concentration of various pesticides, poison, and environmental contaminants; from the grass that is fed to it, or the water drunk by the cattle. The resulting milk and meat products are abnormally high in these toxins.

Milk Proteins

All the dairy products contain plenty of milk proteins and these are triggers and considered as a commonly implicated causal factor in promoting many of the diseases that have been mentioned prior.

Gut leakage

Dairy protein stimulates inappropriate immune responses when it is absorbed by the intestinal mucosa. These result in unwarranted inflammation of the surrounding tissues and thereby it aggravates the ailments of many milk drinkers.

Cattle are injected with hormones to maximize milk production. These hormones such as recombinant bovine hormone (rbGH) increase the insulin; like growth factor-1, which has been known to promote the growth of cancer cells.

The reason to switch to a vegan lifestyle or to include a vegan meal that acts as an alternative to dairy is the need of the hour. There are plenty of vegan recipes that you can try that will give you a safe route to meet the dietary and nutritional requirements of the human body. Cutting out dairy products will help you reclaim the lost well-being and keep you safely away from harm’s way.
